Peer Review Process

This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity.  To help with this please include all authors and their affiliations in the journal management system and none in the original text.

All unpublished submissions for this journal undergo a plagiarism test and a strict editorial overview process, which includes double-blind review. This means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. The review is conducted by two reviewers: one national and one international. The author(s) who are interested in getting their work published in the journal are considered to have accepted the editorial policy.

Publication Ethics Policy and Publication malpractice statement

JoEED encourages the best standards of publication ethics and believes in taking all possible measures against publication malpractices. Thus, it becomes important to agree upon standards of proper ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, editors, peer reviewers and the publisher.

Authors should present their original researchand the results accurately, followed by an objective discussion of the work. The manuscript should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work.

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.

All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.

Complaint Process

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the journal editor by emailing on journal.education@iobm.edu.pk. It is further requested that the author must cooperate with the editor to rectify the issue.

The final decision to whether or not publish an article lies with the Editor in Chief. The Editor in Chief may take advice of the editorial board to make this decision.

The Editor in Chief can at any time analyse and evaluate the submitted and published manuscript for their intellectual contribution to the existing body of knowledge.

The Editor in Chief and the editorial staff of JoEED must not disclose the names and works of the authors that they receive prior to publication.

Any material that has not been published but reaches the editorial office should not be used by the editorial team unless permission from the authors is taken.

Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer‟s own research without the express written consent of the author.

Any manuscripts received for publishing must be treated as confidential documents.

The publisher, in close collaboration with the editors, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and to amend the article in question in cases of alleged or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication or plagiarism,

The publisher is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research.

Retraction Policy

Retraction is a mechanism for correcting the literature and alerting readers to publications that contain such seriously flawed or erroneous data that their findings and conclusions cannot be relied upon. Unreliable data may result from honest error or from research misconduct.

The retracted articles will be clearly identified by JoEED as such in all electronic sources (e.g. on the journal website and any bibliographic databases). Editors will be responsible for ensuring that retractions are labelled in such a way that they are identified by bibliographic databases.

Retraction will only be reserved for publications that are so seriously flawed that their findings or conclusions should not be relied upon.

If redundant publication has occurred, in that case if JoEED will have published the article first, then it will issue a notice of redundant publication but will not retract the article unless the findings are unreliable. If JoEED will have published it subsequently, then JoEED will take action and the article will be retracted.
